ABOUT OIL PULLING
OIL PULLLING is a simple techinque that involves swishing vegetable oil in your mouth for 20 minutes upon waking every morning. You can oil pull more than once a day if you wish. I usually pull twice a day - first thing in the morning and at night before bed.
OIL PULLING finds its roots in Ayurvedic tradition where it has been practiced for over 2000 years. Any good quality vegetable oil can be used. Many sources suggest sesame oil or sunflower oil. However, it has been my experience that the best results come from using coconut oil. Coconut oil has many unique qualities that make it ideal for oil pulling. It is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and it is hypo-allergenic.
The best resource on Oil Pulling that I have found is Bruce Fife's book Oil Pulling Therapy. For this reason, I have included it in the OIL PULLING BASICS kit. I also included his book on Healing Crisis because it has been my experience that Oil pulling will bring about some "house cleaning" which might seem scary if the process is not clearly understood.
We know that oil pulling can improve oral health and we are learning that oral health is intimately tied to general health. I have friends who have seen improvement in conditions from fibromyalgia and depression to wrinkles and psorasis. I myself have seen a dramatic improvement in arthritis, chronic pain, energy. The best part of this technique is that is costs pennies a day and takes little effort and time.
